Attachable QWERTY Keypad, Animated Touch Screen Interface, and Advanced Web Browsing Offer Latest in Wireless Phone Style and Function

Verizon Wireless and LG Electronics MobileComm U.S.A., Inc. (LG Mobile Phones) announced that the LG Versa(TM) will be available on the nation’s largest and most reliable wireless voice and data network beginning March 1. With its elegant chrome border on a bar design, animated 3-inch touch screen interface with tactile feedback and an attachable QWERTY keypad, the LG Versa will be an MVP (Most Versatile Phone) for customers.

Customers can personalize their LG Versa phones based on their messaging needs — either attach the QWERTY keypad to their phones or leave the keypad at home. The LG Versa’s home screen is transformed into a sizzling, animated 3D interface and customers can quickly customize three different home screens with their favorite shortcuts. The built-in accelerometer rotates the screen automatically from portrait to landscape, and customers can use rotation movements to steer games. The HTML Web browser includes Flash and RSS feed support, and customers can keep up to three windows open and switch from one window to the other to view pages.

Additionally, the phone comes packed with Verizon Wireless’ V CAST Music with Rhapsody and V CAST Video services. V CAST Music with Rhapsody allows customers to choose from more than 5 million songs over-the-air, download the master copy of their songs to their PCs free of digital rights management (DRM) software and sync their favorite tracks, albums and playlists from their PCs to their LG Versa phones using the included USB cable. V CAST Video allows customers to download or stream video from the best names in news, sports, entertainment and more.

The LG Versa supports productivity tools — such as Visual Voice Mail so they can prioritize their messages — while Verizon Wireless’ VZ NavigatorSM service transforms the phone into a navigation device at a fraction of the cost of most GPS systems. In addition, the LG Versa is compatible with Mobile Broadband Connect to allow customers to use their phones as a modem by linking their laptops to their phones to establish a broadband connection anywhere within Verizon Wireless’ Mobile Broadband rate and coverage area.

Strategic partnership enables immediate data protection regardless of operating system

Mobile Armor, Inc., the leader in mobile data protection for the U.S. Government and recipient of the largest single award for data-at-rest encryption, has teamed with Seagate to provide a complete data protection solution that leverages Seagate(R) Momentus(R) self-encrypting hard drives to deliver powerful security for laptop computers. This collaboration delivers management, authentication, and auditing capabilities for laptop PCs powered by Seagate Momentus 2.5-inch hard drives and running Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux operating systems.

With the proliferation of data theft and the continued loss of confidential and sensitive information, organizations are constantly searching for data loss prevention solutions that can manage encryption in mixed hardware and software environments.

Organizations today are also challenged with proving compliance and meeting other corporate governance requirements. The associated risks in not being able to do so include financial impact, audits, customer turnover, and lost productivity.

“Seagate’s collaboration with Mobile Armor gives organizations an easy-to-deploy full disk encryption (FDE) solution that automatically encrypts data and manages multiple policies and controls to greatly simplify laptop security for IT administrators and end users,” said Joan Motsinger, Seagate(R) vice president, Personal Systems Marketing and Strategy. “Our joint mission enables fast, cost-effective deployment of powerful plug-and-play data security, making it easier for enterprises and government agencies to protect digital assets from theft and loss.”

The Momentus FDE (full-disk encryption) notebook hard drives, 5400- and 7200-rpm models with capacities of up to a half-terabyte, helps protect against unauthorized access to information on lost or stolen notebook computers. Part of the Seagate(R) Secure(TM) family of self-encrypting drives, the Momentus FDE drives feature government-grade encryption that delivers powerful security for confidential customer or corporate information on executive notebook computers, critical customer data on field sales and customer support notebook PCs, and sensitive information on personal notebooks.

Seagate Secure technology is a security platform that couples strong, fully automated hardware-based full-disk encryption with leading security-based software applications to deliver centralized encryption key management, multi-factor user authentication and other capabilities that help lock down personal computer and data center storage. Seagate Secure technology uses AES to encrypt all hard drive information transparently and automatically at full interface speed to prevent performance drags common among traditional software encryption products, giving organizations an easy, cost-effective tool for complying with the growing number of data privacy laws calling for the protection of consumer information using government-grade encryption. The data security platform also makes it easy to repurpose and retire computers and hard drives without compromising sensitive information; all data stored on the drive is rendered unreadable by simply deleting the encryption key.

“Mobile Armor is pleased to augment our security platform previously validated by our largest-in-the-world implementation of centrally-managed encryption and enterprise key management with the Seagate(R) hardware security solutions,” said Mobile Armor Chairman and CEO, Chand Vyas. “This collaboration marks a new generation of integrated solutions, where enterprises and government agencies can now manage and audit all their security from a single unified policy and management console which is device and platform agnostic.”
