Belkin is the winner of four 2012 International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) for innovative product design, the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA). The two Silver and two Bronze Awards put Belkin among the top corporate winners in 2012 along with Samsung, Coway and LG.
“People-inspired design is reflected in everything we do at Belkin, and we are excited to be recognized by the IDSA for creating products that blend innovation with everyday simplicity,” said Ernesto Quinteros, Belkin’s chief brand officer. “It’s an honor to be highlighted along notable corporate design teams and extremely gratifying to know that we accomplished this with our small but talented group of product innovators, designers and engineers.”
Belkin is a mainstay on the IDEA winners list, taking home 14 awards since 2007. This year’s Silver Honoree products include the Belkin 19-Inch Widescreen Rack Console and Belkin’s family of wireless N routers, both in the computer category. Products earning Bronze honoree status include the Car Audio Connect AUX with Bluetooth® in the Communications Tools category and the Advance Secure DVI-I KVM Switch in the Commercial and Industrial Products category.
In addition to the Silver and Bronze honorees, six other Belkin products were acknowledged as finalists for making it through to the second round of judging. Products on the Finalist list include the LiveAction Camera Grip, the LiveAction Camera Remote, ScreenCast AV 4, the Keyboard Folio, the Chef Stand + Stylus and the Kitchen Cabinet Mount.
The IDEA awards program recognizes design excellence in products, sustainability, interaction design, strategy, and research and concepts, and is widely considered one of the most prestigious design contests. A panel of 19 international design experts selected the winners and recognized 660 finalists, 35 Gold Award winners, 71 Silver Award winners and 123 Bronze award winners.
