Sony Computer Entertainment America announced that the PlayStation 3 will be offered in North America with 160GB or 320GB Hard Disk Drives (HDD), offering more capacity to download games and entertainment content from PlayStationNetwork along with personal digital content, such as music, photos, and videos. The new models will continue to offer the same advanced features and functions of the current models, but with approximately 33 percent more capacity and at compelling price points. This increased HDD space addresses the growing demand for the digital content offered on PlayStationNetwork, where more than 1 billion pieces of content have been downloaded as of July 2010.
At $299.99 (MSRP), the 160GB model PS3 system offers tremendous value to consumers and is now shipping to retailers at the same price as the existing PS3 model. Paramount Digital Entertainment’s Top Gun Allows Players to Fly Into The Danger Zone as Maverick and Experience All-New Dialogue and an Expanded Storyline Written by the Film’s Screenwriter, Jack Epps, Jr.
Paramount Digital Entertainment announced that Top Gun the video game is now available for download on PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 3. Based on the iconic film, Top Gun is a free-flying air combat shooter that expands the legend of Maverick, Iceman and the rest of the Top Gun flyers through new dialogue and combat scenarios written by the film’s screenwriter, Jack Epps, Jr.
“Jumping into the cockpit and blasting down bogeys to the classic compositions ‘Danger Zone’ and ‘Top Gun Anthem’ is something every ‘Top Gun’ fan has wanted to do since the film’s release,” said John Kavanagh, senior vice president of video games, Paramount Digital Entertainment. “And with the help of Jack Epps, Jr., we’re excited to offer both intense combat and all-new encounters with the film’s famous flyers.”
As Maverick, players will go up against the best of the best at the Top Gun Academy with their Radar Intercept Officer (RIO), Goose. Following graduation, players will take on the Soviets over the Indian Ocean. While engaging in large-scale dogfight battles, Maverick will test the limits of his plane, his new RIO and his wingman, Iceman. Top Gun also features five multiplayer modes, allowing up to 16 players to battle it out online. Top Gun is available for purchase on PlayStation Network for $14.99. Hulu Plus preview available on PlayStation 3 to select PlayStation Plus members; Release of Hulu Plus available to all PlayStation 3 owners in the United States in the coming months
Sony and Hulu announced that the Hulu Plus preview will begin today on the PlayStation 3 in the United States with the consumer release of Hulu Plus available to all PS3 owners set to occur in the coming months. PS3 is the first and only console with dedicated gaming functionality that will offer Hulu Plus in 2010. Hulu Plus will deliver a library of high-definition (HD) content including full seasons of popular TV shows and blockbuster movies from nearly 150 leading content companies. Content on Hulu Plus is complementary to the more than 23,000 movies and TV episodes already available on the PlayStation®Store.

Get ready to Kinect to fun entertainment for everyone. Microsoft capped off a two-day world premiere, complete with celebrities, stunning physical dexterity, and news from a galaxy far, far away, to reveal experiences that will transform living rooms in North America, beginning Nov. 4. Kinect will roll out to the rest of the world thereafter.

Opening with a magical Cirque du Soleil performance on Sunday night attended by Hollywood’s freshest faces, Microsoft gave the transformation of home entertainment a name: Kinect for Xbox 360.
